| Makati City, Philippines – Motorists and convenience store customers are in for a richer, fuller experience as two of the most popular and trusted consumer brands join forces.
Chevron Philippines Incorporated (CPI), proud marketer of the Caltex™ brand of top quality fuels and petroleum products, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), local franchisor of the popular 7-Eleven convenience store chain, aimed at leveraging the marketing and retail strengths of the two organizations.
CPI and PSC signed the Memorandum of Agreement formalizing the partnership last August 6, 2009 in simple ceremonies held at CPI’s Corporate Offices in Makati City.
CPI Country Chairman Jim Meynink said, “Our partnership with 7-Eleven is part of a global strategy geared at making us concentrate on our core business function which is to market top quality fuels and petroleum products safely and reliably.”
Meynink added, “7-Eleven’s market leadership and proven track record in C-store operations coupled with the popularity of the Caltex brand of fuels and petroleum products is a compelling value proposition for our consumers and motorists whenever they drive through a Caltex retail station with a 7-Eleven convenience store in it.”
Victor Paterno, Philippine Seven Corporation President and CEO, meanwhile said, “We thank Caltex for placing its trust in us as we build our brands together and move forward.” He added that, “this is the first time that 7-Eleven is partnering with a globally recognized consumer brand as Caltexby partnering with an industry leader, we will open, it certainly opens some very exciting marketing opportunities for Caltex, 7-Eleven,us and our consumers.the car-riding customer that we will be jointly serving.”
The strategic partnership between the two brands is expected to boost fuel and consumer sales as patrons of the two popular brands enjoy the benefit of getting their fuels and consumer products all in the same location.
To launch the partnership, 7-Eleven is set to open its first two convenience stores located within a Caltex retail station on Thursday, 22 October 2009. These will be at the Caltex Malugay station along Buendia Avenue in Makati, where simple opening ceremonies will be held at 10 in the morning; and, at the Caltex Connecticut station along EDSA in Greenhills, San Juan. 7-Eleven customers and Caltex motorists should expect special treats and freebies when they drive through these retail stations on opening day.
Seven other 7-Eleven convenience stores are slated to open in Caltex retail stations across Metro Manila within the month of October. By the end of 2009, there will be a total of twenty-two (22) 7-Eleven convenience stores operating in Caltex retail stations in Metro Manila. ###
